Biografia
Alexandre Rayol nasceu em São Luís. Sua principal atuação foi como professor e diretor de escolas, sempre mantendo dedicação à música em paralelo. Estudou violoncelo e atuou como barítono. Dirigiu sociedades musicais em São Luís, entre elas o ‘Club Pic-Nic’. Após residir em Manaus entre 1888 e 1898, foi para Viana em 1899, criando uma filial do Collegio Rayol, também mantido em São Luís, e a ‘Sociedade de Instrução e Recreio’ para realização de concertos, contribuindo ao prolífico movimento musical dessa cidade na época, ao lado de nomes como Miguel Archanjo Dias. Em 1910, foi em definitivo para Manaus, onde dirigiu o Collegio Rayol até seus últimos dias. Foi deputado estadual pelo Amazonas entre 1922 e 1926. Faleceu em 1934, durante uma de suas aulas matutinas. Várias de suas peças para piano solo foram resguardadas por seu neto Ney Rayol e doadas ao Arquivo Público do Estado do Maranhão (APEM) em 1988, paralelamente à coleção do padre João Mohana.

Biografia
Alfredo Belleza foi um dos regentes da longeva banda Euterpe Cariman de Caxias, tendo exercido a função durante o primeiro quartel do século XX, quando então passou a direção da banda a seu filho, Josias Chaves Belleza. A Euterpe Cariman fazia apresentações em toda a região próxima a Caxias, e chegou inclusive a excursionar no Piauí.

Biografia
Verdi de Carvalho era natural de São Luís. Foi residir no Recife ainda na infância, estudando música no Colégio Ayres Gama, onde também atuou como regente de banda. Em 1910, foi para Manaus, onde foi professor de piano, seu principal instrumento. Dois anos depois, retornou ao Maranhão para atuar como pianista do Cinema S. Luiz e abrir uma escola particular de música em sua casa. Logo em 1913, voltou ao Recife para atuar em grupos de cinemas locais, onde também exerceu a atividade que mais se dedicou: dirigir as orquestras das companhias de operetas, compondo e adaptando repertório. Voltou a morar em São Luís entre 1919 e 1923, indo residir em definitivo no Rio de Janeiro em 1924 para atuar na Companhia Brasileira de Operetas, na qual fazia parte o “famoso” tenor Vicente Celestino. Sua opereta de maior destaque foi “O Mano de Minas”. Faleceu tragicamente em 1937, asfixiado por gás carbônico durante um banho. Deixou peças orquestradas e canções populares.

Biografia
Alice Serra Martins era filha do comerciante e escritor Joaquim Maria Serra Martins, gerente da Companhia Alliança de prensa de algodão. Era também irmã do violinista Tancredo Serra Martins (1877-1913) e de Raul Serra Martins, industrial estabelecido em Codó. Atuou como pianista acompanhadora e como professora de música do Liceu Maranhense durante a primeira metade do século XX, no qual passou a adotar o método de canto orfeônico a partir da década de 1930.
