Biografia
Honorio Joaquim Ribeiro foi um músico de relevante atuação em Alcântara, sua cidade natal, e Pinheiro. Teve aulas de música e português (primeiras letras) com Francisco Maranhense Freire de Lemos (ca. 1835-1923) no final da década de 1870. Honorio atuou em diversos festejos religiosos de Alcântara, além de ter colaborado com a manutenção da Sociedade Beneficente Alcantarense na década de 1980 e na fundação do Teatro Tapuytapera. que existiu por pouco tempo em sua cidade natal. Após se estabelecer como professor de música em Pinheiro, em 1906, ajudou a criar um teatro dramático na cidade, sendo também fundador e regente da única banda pinheirense da época. Tomou parte na orquestra do Festival Rayol de 1903 em homenagem a Antonio Rayol, colocando-se como um “entusiasta do artista maranhense”.

Biografia
Um dos filhos músicos do artista plástico José Maria Billio Junior, Hygino Billio era irmão de Ignácio Billio, mais conhecido na época, e de Marçal Billio. Trabalhou no Diario do Maranhão e foi escriturário da Recebedoria Estadual (atual Tribunal de Contas do Estado). O padre João Mohana relata seu encontro com o músico, já debilitado pela idade avançada. Segundo entrevista a sua sobrinha-neta, Alcenita Bílio, Hygino Honorato Billio morava na descida do canto do Ateneu (atualmente uma ruína, próxima ao primeiro prédio do Liceu Maranhense, atual Centro Cultural Vale Maranhão – CCVM.

Biografia
Hypomenes Gromwell dos Reis, filho de Pedro Gromwell dos Reis, era dado pelo próprio pai como uma revelação, pois quando criança, conseguia ler partituras para piano à primeira vista. No entanto, em uma viagem marítima para São Bento com seu pai, acabou pegando muito vento através de uma das escotilhas do navio, contraindo uma pneumonia que o levou ao rápido e precoce óbito.

Biografia
Ignácio Billio, filho do artista plástico José Maria Billio Junior, nasceu em São Luís por volta de 1860. Pertenceu a uma família de músicos, junto com seus irmãos Marçal e Hygino. Foi o que mais atuou nessa profissão, como professor de música, arranjador e compositor de danças de salão, fato que lhe rendeu “popularidade” na época. Esse repertório definia seus ambientes de atuação: bailes de carnaval, soirées dançantes (o antepassado das atuais boates) e clubes recreativos. Foi um dos primeiros diretores dos grupos que tocavam nos navios a vapor que transitavam no Maranhão. Paralelamente, trabalhou na tipografia da farmácia de João Victal de Mattos (1863-1925), que também deixou composições. Em 1891, foi contratado como mestre da entao banda do 5.º Batalhão de Infantaria, atual 24.º Batalhão de Infantaria. Em 1904, foi professor de música da Escola de Aprendizes Marinheiros. Faleceu em 1924.
